James is a regular guest on BBC Radio and has performed on such Television shows as “My Favourite Hymns” with Donny Osmond, “An Act of Faith” singing in the place of famous Welsh Tenor Aled Jones, “Live and Large” with Ted Robins (Cousin of Sir Paul McCartney) and ITV’s “Big Night Out”.  His Theatre credits include lead roles such as Jimmy Flinders in “Saturday’s Warrior”, Captain Tempest in “Return to the Forbidden Planet” and the title role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.

Recordings include “James Loynes – Here There and Everywhere”, “Write Thy Name Upon My Heart”, “Human Racing” in which he appears as a guest musician for the band Koooler, and "His Name Shall Be Called Wonderful". James is currently working on his next project with LDS songwriter Sally DeFord, which will be available later this year.

James also directs his own company “United Voice”, a choir organization with the aim of “bringing the joy of music to everyone.” The choir consists of over 100 people from around the North West of England, from all walks of life and levels of abilities, from experienced performers to those who have only ever sung in the shower.

"It’s so rewarding to bring out the best in people who have had no previous experience, giving them confidence and an opportunity they may not otherwise get.”

James provides them with professional vocal coaching resulting in large scale concerts in impressive venues. Their most recent events include “The Joy Of Christmas” at the Cathedral in Blackburn, Lancashire with the Northern Chamber Orchestra and “The Sound of Musicals” at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall accompanied by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, which James himself conducted.

Playing drums and piano and with a Singing Teaching Diploma from the London College of Music, James has gone on to manage his own school of music.

With a talent for bringing out the meaning and emotion in a song, James has been asked to sing at many LDS Music events in the UK. He toured the country performing his own arrangement of “Oh, How Lovely Was The Morning” as part of “The Restoration” firesides which ran along side the release of the LDS church DVD by the same name.  One of his most memorable assignments was a long term engagement at the England Missionary Training Centre to perform Kenneth Cope’s “His Hands” as part of a presentation about Christ and his example of good works.

James is excited to be currently involved in LDS music projects. "I love to sing the words of beautiful and uplifting songs. I have a strong belief in the powers of music to touch a person’s life for good. If I can touch one person’s life and raise their spirits, then it’s all been worth while.”
